Beginning of the week check in.

The first day of the week sets the tone for the next 7 days. It’s extremely important to identify your priorities, decide how you want to feel, and where your intention will flow.

(If you’ve been keeping up with my Instagram, you’re aware of my decision to practice slow living.)

If you haven't, here is a quick run down. In the beginning of the year I decided to reconstruct my entire life and begin an intentional practice with slowing down. I was moving entirely too fast, I wasn't making healthy decisions, and I was too focused on the whole staircase, not the step in front of me. I wanted a quick fix for everything and I thought “if I could just get there, things would get better.” I wasn’t even sure where “there” was but I assumed it would be more appealing than whatever season I was in.

It wasn’t until I resumed my spiritual practice with The Lord that my outlook on “fast living" changed. I realized that in order for the Lord to reveal my next steps, I would need to be still and quiet enough to hear him.

In the midst of this transformation, I began implementing these beginning of the week prompts in my journal that I gathered from @heyamberrae to help me lay the foundation for the week. So I don’t become overwhelmed and lose sight of direction.

*weekly check in prompts*

What is your #1 priority?
This week I want to feel..
I want to do more..
I want to do less..
To feel this way, I will..
If I get stuck, I will remember...

These prompts have helped me tremendously. I am sharing this with you all this evening, in hopes that it will help someone too.

Before you begin each week, try your best to implement these 6 prompts into your morning routine. If it helps, check in periodically during the week to stay focused.

Where will your intention flow this week?
